Samsara Presents: The Next Gen … Again

The year 2020 has proven the age old saying, the only constant truly is change. Like everyone, we had to adapt to a new reality.  For us, that meant we had to redirect our business beyond suitcases during the travel hiatus.  We enjoyed getting creative to meet your current needs, but our passion remains smart suitcases!

Now that we are on the brink of a new year, we wanted to reintroduce our Next Gen suitcase.  Yes, there are a few steps before we’re back to normal per se, but it’s on the horizon.  

The Next Gen was imagined as a functional suitcase that just about everyone could enjoy, from Instagrammers to business travelers.  When we were first brainstorming the suitcase, we envisioned benefits for you at every stage of travel.  We wanted this suitcase to meet your needs so much that it was something that you’d want to share in a social post or two.

1. The Instagrammer

We love Instagrammers.  Whether your micro, macro or nano, you’ve got that creative mind that makes an ordinary snapshot extraordinary.  Like an avid traveler, you’ve got quite an imagination and see a potential post at every random corner.  We’ve been watching your many backdrops and some of them can be summed up as far off places in the middle of nowhere. 

You were part of our inspiration when developing our Next Gen!  We know you’ve got props and equipment you’re lugging around town.  First, we wanted to make sure you are WIFI connected no matter how off the beaten path you find yourself.  So, we included a global Hotspot feature in our Next Gen.  

Our suitcases also grew bigger!  At 23” we can hold collapsible tripods, cameras and your props.  Double combination locks for added security too.

2. The Business Traveler

You were our first love.  You had us at hello, with frequent flyer points, layovers, and back-to-back travel itineraries.  We loved everything about you and wanted to make sure we considered making our Next Gen the ideal suitcase for you, the business traveler.

So yes, our Next Gen has the unique design first seen in our first model. You will still enjoy the on-the-go workstation where you can work and charge while at the gate.  But with the Next Gen, you’ll be able to eject your smart unit without having to open your suitcase.  That’s right, now you can streamline your travel even more with the press of a button.  Our smart unit is also a wireless charging dock that comes with you as you alternate between meetings, dinners and any leisure activities you can squeeze in.  

3. The Student Traveler

We love that study abroad programs are booming across campuses.  We wanted to be sure that our Next Gen would suit the student traveler’s needs.  Whether you’re there for a semester or the entire year, the Next Gen is designed for the student traveler that’s looking for something durable and affordable. 

We expanded our product line to include polycarbonate for those who were looking for a suitcase that could endure a little ruggedness.  This includes brutal taxi rides and constant movement as you explore new terrain.  Polycarbonate also comes at a more accessible price point as well.  Best combo for the students in our community!

4. The Oblivious Traveler

We’ve got a few of these on our team.  The Oblivious Traveler is so in awe with their surroundings, the whereabouts of their suitcase subconsciously becomes secondary.  You picked the destination to be enamored and it didn’t take long for the eye to take the bait.  

The Next Gen’s GPS technology helps fill the blind spot the comes with the Oblivious Traveler.  Like in our first edition, you’ll still get mobile alerts when your suitcase is out of range, but with GPS, this means you’ll locate the suitcases’ whereabouts globally!  That means if you end up checking your luggage, you’ll be able to locate your suitcase before the airlines!  GPS is an extra layer of security so you can focus on taking in the sights and having fun!
